I have one on the way. A teammate shoots one and does quite well with it; his load is a bit unconventional, namely the big Lee 405 gr hollow base trapdoor bullet over 20 gr of FFG Goex, lubed with SPG. Over primer wad of printer paper.
Now, I can certainly try that. However, to start out with, I think I'd like to go with a bit more conventional load. What are you shootin in your Henry? I have a Lee REAL 250 gr that, while meant for front stuffers, should prove quite effective in the .45 colt with black powder; plenty of large lube grooves, nice flat top. Also standard 200 gr .45 semi wadcutters. I'm thinking I'll try those to start, over however much powder is needed to come up to the base of the bullet when the bullet is seated to feet through the mag and chamber freely.
He also anneals his brass or he gets blow by; what's your input on that?
