    500 gr bullet for Smith

Does anyone have a suggested starting load for 500 grain bullets out of a Pietta Smith?
    TIA, John.

    Smith

The Smith uses a bullet of between 360 and 380 gr. Rifleing is probably too slow to stabilize a bullet that long.

  4. John. I have tried unsuccesfully to use the 450g 50-70 bullet in my Smith. Both the Lyman and Rapine bullet keyhole. I agree with Joe that the Smith Twist is to slow for that long of a bullet. Bob E
