    .36 Remington (Lyman/Uberti) & .375 Lee conical bullets

Anyone have experience or opinions on the above combination? I got a smokin' deal on a Lee double cavity .375 130 grain conical bullet mold. I've got a few pointers on trial loads for the .375 roundballs, but could now use some info on the conical style. Including whether they can be made to shoot worth a carp.

    Thanks!

    Conicals in Revolvers

    Jim,
I recently obtained a Lee .375 conical mold and have cast some bullets up but have yet to test them in my Colt Navy. In N-SSA competition I normally shoot a Pietta .44 Remington with a Rapine conical that weighs in at 215 grains with 20.0 grains GOEX FFFg. It's a good enough load to keep me in Expert class. You may find that the conical prints somewhat higher than roundballs with equivalent charges. I see little difference in group size between roundballs and conicals at 25 yards. The conicals tend to show greater accuracy at 50 yards in my experience.
