Shooting a Maynard left-handed shouldn't be a problem as far as the hammer position goes. I have been shooting my original 2nd model Maynard since 1987 and still have about 100 cases that I bought when I got the gun and they work just fine. After using them, I soak them in vinegar for about 10 minutes and that dissolves the powder residue and anything else. Then I rinse them in hot water, and after they dry, I tumble them in a Lyman Turbo Tumbler and they come out like new.
