In the past year, I acquired an English Parker-Hale Volunteer in very nice condition. I really have not had the oppurtunity to do anything with it, and have come to the realization that I really am not going to shoot it at the distances it is designed for. With that, I would like to trade for something that I will enjoy/use.
The rifle has many nice aspects about it. The person I bought it from, put on the hooded front sight, with Pedersoli inserts. The previous owner also put a venier tang on the wrist of the rifle. (This is the only flaw to the rifle. The previous owner put the sight on, and had drilled an extra hole in the wrist.) I also have an older Nay Arms long brass scope with mounts that could be put on the rifle, if you so desired. The rifle will also come with the Lyman mould (475 grains) and Lee sizer for the bullet. Overall, the blueing is in fantastic condition on the metal. The casehardening on the lock is decent. Little to no damage on the screws. The rifle has a platinum lined nipple. This rifle is the English Volunteer with Henry rifling.
I have attached a link with photos of the rifle. If it doesn't work please email if interested in pics.
As to what I am looking for for, I know the list is specific, but it is a wish list. In descending order: A repro Springfield 1855 .54 or .58 caliber carbine or other interesting trades would be considered, I really prefer Civil War carbines and rifles, and finally cash would be $1700 firm.
You can PM me or email me at whitneyrifle@hotmail.com if interested.
Thank you for your time and interest.
