OK, I was a little slow on the uptake but now I understand.
The approved arms list applies to reproductions not originals. That's why I couldn't find a number of originals not on it.
Does the SAC have spec sheets for originals not on the approved list.
I mistakenly rebarreled a Starr Carbine in the wrong bore size, no big deal I'll just use the barrel for something else.
I'm sure that John Holland and other SAC members have their mail boxes full with requests for info, so the sooner the spec sheets can be posted at the web site the easier it will be for everyone.
Right now I started building an original 1840 lock in the original flint version. From what I have found, the 1835-1840 is similar to the 1842 stock and hardware wise.
I don't want to invest time and $$$ into some project that will be rejected over a minor error.
So is there is a spec sheet for the 1835-1840 Springfield I'd like to start with it.

Hail, most everyone shot an issue Springfield or Enfield, I'm just an ornery old cuss who stuck with his flintlocks like my Hall Rifle and 1840 Springfield
