On the front of this box is 52/100, does that mean 100grains powder?

I intrepret this as 52/100th's of an inch caliber, or .52 inches.
Steve
Steve is correct, it means .52 caliber by todays standards.

Thanks guys, has anyone seen or have a picture of a box cover that denotes the amount of powder used in the cartridge?
Just for Sharps cartridges, or cartridges in general?
Here are some .58 Expanding Ball arsenal packs with labels that show the grains:

I highly recommend the series "Round Ball to Rimfire". It is a four-volume set on Civil War era ammunition. I have just finished volume 1.

Thanks Steve, Ill check into those books.
They are rather expensive at $40-$50 each, but I was able to get volumes 1-3 on inter-library loan.
