    My Spotting Scope just broke

18-36x50 Redhead scope just broke in half. Need to buy a new spotting scope. Need to pick out .44 cal holes at 100yds. Can anybody suggest a good scope around $150.00-200.00 mark? Thank You, Rich Foster

    Spotting scope

I just recently bought a spotting scope from (of all places) Harbor Frieght, it is 40x60x80 and has great very clear optics for the money, $49.95, it has all the features of an much more expensive scope. I was really surprised when I just happened to look thru thier display model. It is worth a look. Jim

Ken, That would be a southern tradition. Funny thing is I never dropped this scope I grapped the front part while on tripod and it just came apart but is clearly snapped clean break all away around not a scuff mark on the outside shell. I think if it was put in a vise and pop with a maul it would break. I believe heat could of done it. I will probably send it back to Redhead and see what they will do. Thanks

    scope

Richie go to midway and search conus scopes. not quite 2oo but for around 350 they are far and away the best scope you can get for the money. You can see a .44 hole at 250 yds very clearly. Gary

J.B weld did the trick for me. Same thing happened. Turns out, it was glued from the git go as the threads were undersize.
