I have one of the S&S blocks. The flash hole is very large, so you can get it properly lined with platinum, if you happen to have a jeweler in the family. If you don't, you may have some problem with blowback.

It may take a little fitting where it fits into the breech. Should slide but not bind.

If the flash hole on your original Burnside block gets plugged, you can try to open it up with piano wire or guitar string, but a much better way to clean out that carbon fouling is to get a set of jeweler's drill bits. If you google "lapidary supply", you'll find lots of places to buy.

It's better to buy a set than a particular size, because Burnside blocks vary in the size of the flash hole. I've got four blocks, and they're all different.
