Working closely with John Holland on this project I built a 1819 Hall Rifle in original flintlock.
It has an original barreled reciever and I borrowed a breechblock to use in it.
I bought the barreled reciever on a chance and surprisingly it has rusty, pitted but good deep crisp rifling.
The stock is from Dunlap and the hardware, barrel bands, buttplate etc are from the Rifle Shoppe.
I consulted John Holland about everything right down to the fact that an 1819 Hall used pins to hold the barrel bands in place rather that the later spring retainers.
I will be at the Early Bird and the Chesapeake skirmishes at the Fort and need to have this weapon approved.
