Cigarette paper vs hair curler paper

Ok so I am bored. I love this making smoke and there are so many opinions I decided to use a scientific approach which meant I had to leave the cap on my bottle of excellent Rebel Yell hooch. The question being will cigarette paper burn better and leave less ash than hair curler paper? You may say why bother but it is the ash that might cause a premature ignition. So with a trusty set of tweezers and mom's gas stove I proceeded to run the experiment. Wel the bottom line after testing multiple cigarette papers, the hair curler paper is far superior in burn rate and low residual ash. In addition it is MUCH cheaper. So for those of you who have anguished over this ponderous issue you finally have a definitive answer. Just one other item. I no longer use Elmer's glue in making rounds for my Sharps and Merrill carbines. Permanent glue stick is much faster and leaves less of a mess.I want to thank Dave Booz and the rest of the Berdan C2 team who have always given me guidance and support but sometimes they have left their 2x4 at home so they have to do it again. Please vote when the time comes, regardless of your choice as they have not figured a way to mess that up yet.God Bless

    Sharps Cartridges

I agree that Ladies' Hair Curler Papers are better than using cigarette papers for making Sharps cartridges.

I recommend that not only do you use the Elmer's Glue STICKS (or the cheap generic equivalent) to glue the top of the paper to the bottom of the bullet, but also use dental floss to tie the paper to the Ringtail on the base of the bullet. Two bonds of the paper to the bullet are much better than one. Dental floss is cheap, very strong and works wonderfully.

Whether you roll your own tubes or get Charlie's, I don't think the paper cover matters so much as to WHAT it is, just so long as it's thin enough that it gets burned through easily. Cigarette papers, hair curler papers, medical tape, tissue paper, I've seen them all used and none seem to leave any more or less junk in the bore.

I use hair curler papers just b/c it's what Dom Infante showed me when he sold me the gun and I bought enough for a lifetime.

Aren't they all about the same, especially if you nitrate them?

I never, never nitrate Ladie's Hair Curler papers because they instantly turn to ash and disappears, when the round is fired.

They are also dirt cheap compared to cigarette papers which have a lot of tobacco taxes buried in their retail price.
