70s Parker Hale P53 with W Crowther Match Grade Barrel

This is an older Birmingham-made Parker Hale (s/n 52xx), refurbished and re-worked (by Todd Watts) so it looks like it did new, except it is defarbed as a LA Co dated 1862, blued barrel and case colored lock. W. Crowther competition barrel with what appear to be standard front/rear sights. Todd Watts did a trigger job on it at as the trigger pull is very light and sombody had cut cross hatches on the surface of the trigger.

Watts set the trigger light--if three pounds, that is all it is. It might need a bit of work there as it seems light to me but admittedly, I just blow blank rounds out of it. $1000 shipped. Email CraigLBarry@aol.com if interested. It is too good to do historic weapons demos out at the Stones River battlefield park, which is all I would use it for.

    Craig,

Bore condition is going to be a major factor here, on this forum.
Many shooter/skirmishes have learned over the years, just how many reenacter types have look after their arms.
If the reenacter types paid half as much attention to keeping those arms clean as they do to the idea/concept of defarbing... there would be no issue where this was concerned.
Just a thought on my part,

I feel reasonably confident this was never a (re)enactor used firearm from the
set-up (competition barrel, lock set-up, etc). The rifling is still very deep and sharp.
I have had it about a month.

    UPDATE:

Nevermind. It's a moot point because there is an offer on it in my email. A (re)enactor of course.
Mods, okay to shut this one down.

Why dont you just keep the thing and come shoot with us. Forrest Escort Company is always looking for new members and it sounds ike you are ready to come out and bust some targets. We are a west Tennessee company and would be glad to have you.

Well it would likely have been a good shooter w/ that Crowther barrel, but the P-H was mailed off
to it's new home yesterday. Appreciate the offer, though. That's the thing about any Enfield repro
de-farbed by Todd Watts. The wait is about four to six months to get one done, and anything special like a Parker Hale is very much in demand.

Apparently more (re)enactors check the boards here than you'd think.

    Craig,

    quote,
"Apparently more (re)enactors check the boards here than you'd think."

Here is an idea, and perhaps an alternative to your thoughts,
Perhaps, there are more Shooter/Skirmishers that play at (re)enacting than most (re)enactors think?
Of course, if ones impresion is well done... who would know?
    Just a thought,

Not to beat the old grey mare to death, but when you re-enactor friends come over and join us in the joyful arts of breaking clay pigeons and bathroom tiles, you'll first have to submit your de-farbed (PITOOIE!!!!!) (mutilated!!!!) musket to the small arms committee for approval instead of taking it directly to the line while singing "And de band played de-farb with delight."
