Anyone Having Trouble With CCI Pistol Caps...?

The CCI "Re-enactment Musket Caps" are so weak they often fail to ignite even a musket. CCI reduced the amount of primer compound in their Musket caps to avoid another law suit. They were sued by a re-enactor that was injured by one of their six wing musket caps.

Now, shooters on other forums are complaining that the new CCI pistol caps are so weak, they have trouble igniting revolver charges in their replica percussion revolvers.

Has anybody on this forum had any problems lately with CCI pistol caps?

I am just wondering if CCI has also reduced the priming compound in their percussion caps.

I just purchased a tin of CCI #10 caps 2 weeks ago from a local gun shop and took the revolver out to the range and shot 4 full cylinders (24 shots) and had no misfires. Now I don't know when they were made, but had no problems with them.

I've not noticed any problems with CCI pistol caps.

I noticed that you have to make certain they are seated. Another thing to check is to remove the nipples and look at powder residue build up at the nipple hole in th cylinders. The nipples should also be cleaned after each shooting event. I have not had any problems once I paid attention to the cleaning.
