I accept the fact that Hall rifles are not allowed in competition for the same reason as Colt Revolving " Carbines " are forbidden, no problem.
With an almost 200 year old stock I'd never consider firing it any way.
But I came across one I couldn't let slip by me. I won't discuss the price I paid for it but I'll just say as I have done a number of times in the past,
I quickly paid for it then got out of Virginia as fast as I could and back into West "By Gawd" Virginia .
I know there had to be a County Sheriff after me because it has to be illegal to buy one for the price I paid for it.
From what I have read, the South confiscated many of them and converted them to percussion once the war started, this one must have slipped through their fingers.
Some may say that this is just a historical relic, what ever.
But if you turn it upside down and look at the bottom of the stock right behind the pistol grip you will see the words carved into it.
GEN TWIGGS DIV MEX.
It ain;' for sale and will be put alongside a few other historical guns I will teack my grand kida about history.
