    Wax Bullets in C&B Revover?

I remember talking with a gentleman about twenty years ago about CW Cap and Ball revovers. He told me at the time that he and his son used to shoot them in their basements using a wax bullet and just the #11 or #10 primers. Has anyone else ever tried this, and does it work? Might make for some entertainment between range sessions.

    It could work.

Years ago in my law enforcement career we carried revolvers. We made wax bullets by inserting a 38 Special primered only brass into a sheet of wax about 3/8" thick. Used these wax rounds under "controlled conditions" for our combat training. Accurate to about 20-25 feet. Close up on bare skin can cause injury.
The department now uses Simunition training rounds that fire a plastic bullet.

With wax bullets and percussion caps it is still a firearm and should be handled safely.
