Uniforms for the Springfield Zouave Grays

We are interested in having uniforms made for the Springfield Zouave Grays, one of Elmer Ellsworth's pre-war militia units. We have plenty of photos and color documentation but we can't find anyone willing to make us uniforms. Can anyone put me on to someone who would be interested in making some zouave uniforms? This is a relatively simple pattern, with knee breeches, leggings, a simple bollero style jacket, shirts, and kepis.

    Thanks-

Hard part is getting correct material. Do you have a source? If you are going to have a number of uniforms made the Richmond Depot may be interested. Drop Fenny a e-mail and ask. http://www.kabar44.com/index.htm

Try Miller's Mercantile. They make New Orleans Style fancy uniforms.

You might try Dan Wambaugh of Wambaugh & White through the AC bulletin board. dan has done several "runs" for whole units.

Re: Uniforms for the Springfield Zouave Grays

Thanks for the advice so far. The uniform of the Grays was very similar to those of the 5th New York (Duryea's zouaves). The only major differences were the caps and in the coat trim. I will follow up on all leads.
