    windage

Is there a rule of thumb or formula for determining how much to move a rear sight for windage? I'm off 2 1/2" @ 50 YDS.

    Re: windage

The formula for sight movement for both windage and elevation is:
(sight radius x distance on target) / distance to target - all in inches
The sight radius is the distance between the front and rear sights (the back of each - what your eye sees)
In your case the distance on target is 2 1/2 " and the distance to target is 50 x 36 = 1800 "
    An example if, say, your sight radius is 32 ": (32 X 2.5) / 1800 = .044 "
    Hope this helps.
