Anyone have any ideas on making Cannister rounds? Powder charges, containers, base wads etc.?

Video of us doing it with a small bronze swivel gun:

Total projected wt: approx. 18 oz.= cardboard tube and 16 oz. of .50 musket balls plus plywood sabot.

Charges: 2 or 2.5 oz. FG

Sabot: Two discs, 1/2 in. thick, just under bore sized, with 1/4 in. bolt thru centers.

Weapon: Bronze swivel gun ca. 1800 in very good cond. mechanically, a good casting, about 2 3/8 in. bore, about a 2-pounder.

Trying some new ideas. Hope it helps in the American Artillery Association shoot at Westerlo NY on July 16/17. Cannister is a FUN event but it's still great to WIN!

My idea worked great; got better results than the smoothbore guns. Solid sabot and tight wrapped cartridge did the trick.
