Thread: revolver loading press

  1. revolver loading press

i see some of you guys looking for a press to load your revolver cylinder. in my mind a press gets the best out of a revolver. it seats the ball or bullet exactly the same each time. more importantly it compresses the powder the same each time. i find that this can make a big differance in how a revolver shoots.
i am very fortunate to have a press made my bobby elka. bobby makes a beautiful loader. the workmanship in bobbys presses is impressive. he settles for nothing less than perfection.
for those of you who dont know bobby. hes been in the shooting sports all his life but bobbys fairly new to skirmishing. he used to work for roush racing. hes now self employed working out of his small but very well equipped machine shop in his home town.
i dont know how many presses bobby plans to make but if you can talk him out of one i promise you wont be unhappy with either the price or the workmanship. bobbys one of the good guys in the sport.

How about taking an ad out in The Skirmish Line magazine or even a short article about you and the press and some pictures?

Thanks Bob and Mr. Gadget. Will they fit both Colt and Remington cylinders (and their clones) and how much do they cost? I specifically need one for the Navy/Pietta Remington .44 I just got. I can't be at Nationals this year because of a commitment to help ride herd on a table at NRA, but I could have one of the guys from my unit pick one up for me.

I too find Bob's work outstanding. I have a Uberti/Remington 1858 New Model Army .44 Revolver and the press works well on it. Bob engraves your name on the base which was an unexpected bonus.
