Revolver Question

To pass time through the winter months, I've been thinking about experimenting with a conical bullet in my Rodgers & Spencer and Remington. One being .452 and the other .457 . I've seen a few people shooting them with success and wonder if anyone would be willing to share any info on what they are using.

I think you will find that 99.99% of successful revolver shooters are shooting round balls. I have tried conical bullets in my revolvers, but have not found them to perform better than round balls.

For one, conicals shoot really high IMO and really offer no advantage over a round ball for paper punching.

I have heard of people using semi-wadcutters...but I also have seen no reason to change from round balls.

I use conicals. I won't say they're more accurate than round balls, but they are certainly no less accurate, and I don't need to use any filler.

I've been casting soft lead round balls, but know people use hard lead. I'm sure there as many points of views on this as Lube and I'd love to here them. Any benefit to either?

I don't know of any top shooters using hard lead.
