    Re: Smith bullet mold

I at one time used teh lyman 515139 (50-70 bullet). I probably used evey 50 cal. bullet you can think of. I even used a .515 round ball - worked great if there was no wind. Any wind and the group enlarged greatly. Just about any bullet will all shoot if you work up a load for them and it is size properly for the barrel. I now use a custom .520 50 cal. mold and I size to .518. I had Bob Hoyt reline my Smith and the .515 bullets were a little undersized. The gun shoots a ragged hole off of the bench. Now all I need is new eyes and I'll be able to do it offhand.
