    Sharps update and a question?

After working on my wife's Armisport Sharps I figure out how to get is shoot reliably. We have to poke the back of the cartridge and break the tissue paper AND use the wingless German caps. Fired every time doing this. Question is where do I get the wingless caps from. CW loaned us the ones I was testing with, but we will need a bunch more at the Nationals in two weeks. Any of the sutlers sell these?

    Mike,

Yes, some of the sutler's will have them, you can also get them at Back Creek Gun Shop located at the end of the exit road at the Fort. They're about $40.00 for 1000.

Mike: I have been shooting a Sharps (Shilow) for the past 24 yrs, had a
Garait, Petersoli. Can give you a wealth of info from the yrs of
shooting, Harris Offer, Sam Dobbin, Mike Newhouse. There are
a few critical mechanical items that need to be done or corrected.
The German caps (winged) should be all that you need for fire.
If interested in hearing my mechcanical info, you can e-mail or
    call (586) 773-4597 (Michigan) e-mail : tyszkaj@aol.com.

I have shot three Smiths, Gallagher, Maynard, Richmond, Garait,
and the Sharps is the best by far for me in the 41 years of skirmish.

Sorry to say, I will not be able to attend the fall Nationals this year. My wife
had a full hip replacement on 9/8/10 and I need to be 24/7 caregiver here
for the next 6 to 8 weeks. If you have any specific questions, please
    e-mail or call

    Mike,
I shoot a Sharp's and learned from Harris Opfer, one of the men listed above. I am with the 110th OVI and will be getting in to the Fort Wednesday late afternoon. If you wish, I will be more than happy to chat with you and answer whatever questions you want to ask. I should also be at the "April Fool's" in Statesville next spring.
