Where to find braided match cord and good slow match recipes

I?ve been struggling to find a vendor that?s selling braided slow match. I?m also trying to work up a good recipe with potassium nitrate or black powder and I haven?t had luck.

    Does anyone have suggestions?

    thank you

If you can wait until the spring nationals, Ray schomco(spelling) sells slow match at the artillery meeting on Friday morning. I use it and it is great quality.

Ray Smutco makes really good performing slow match as Robbie said. The "rope" you need is 100% cotton sash cord. potassium nitrate is pretty easy to find. We have also used lead acetate, but I would advise against it, as is toxic. Good luck on your quest.

Potassium Nitrate is easy to get. The diesel guys add it to their fuel, so a lot of on line diesel shops sell it by the pound. A pound will last a long time when you're making slow match or Sharps cartridges.
