There used to be a product for browning/rusting a gun. It had a yellow label. Does it still exist and ifso where can I get some?
Thanks

My muskets rust "automatically" if I don't clean them. I don't have to use any special products to get them to rust, Thank You!
Eh...Eh...Eh..,
There is a procedure for "browning" a gun described in the book "Confederates in the Attic".

Let me tell you how a friend who lived down the street from me, brown his. First this guy is not skirmisher but a buckskin this will help you understand what he did. He built himself a Pennsylvania rifle and he said that he wanted to make it look a original as possible. He packed the bore with grease and put a plug in it. He then took the barrel , lock plate and hammer out in his back yard dug a hole in his garden and buried them. He left then buried there all winter. In the spring he dug them up, polished them off with some oil and steel wool. When finish, the rifle look like an original.
I still have a supply of browning solution from my round ball days. Apply daily and let set over night about eight times, steel wool in-between. Nice deep brown. Email me if you'd like some and I'll bring it to the Iredell Blues campsite next week.
Thanks but I am covered
