So, I've been shooting musket for a bit, and enjoying it thoroughly. But, being fascinated by all sorts of firearms, I have a Long Land Pattern Musket (Brown Bess) as well. I'm told it's competition legal, but I want to make sure of it before I have it mailed down to my region. (I'm home on leave in NY at the moment, and shoot in the Carolinas.) Further, if it IS legal, how does the N/SSA handle priming a flintlock? Honestly, if I'm shooting smoothbore, I'm doing it for style! I'd be all about using a powder horn, but I wasn't sure if one would be legal.
Anyway, in case anyone is unsure, this is the particular firearm I'm referring to: http://www.middlesexvillagetrading.com/M1BB.shtml
