Looking for a Cadet Musket for a 14 year old JR, this young man is rather small in stature. Shot his 1st Match at the Cockade Match Carbine/Maynard, at the fort on 6/7/24. He had a blast. Thank you.

I had the same problem when my grandson started skirmishing.
We restored/built him an SN&WTC version of a 2 band Springfield. It's about the lightest musket approved by the Small Arms
Committee. Lasted him until he grew into an Enfield.

Great suggestion, I will need to look into that possibility. Thanks
There is a shortened Savage 1861 for sale on the Muzzleloading Forum.
Not sure if I'm allowed to post a link, so search for Savage Cadet rifle.

Carl - I have a 2-bander I could sell you. It?s relined by Hoyt and was a real nice shooter.
