    Bayonet identification help

Think this is for a .69 caliber conversion from smoothbore to a rifled musket.

    shank length 2 5/8 inches
    OAL 20 1/2 inches
    socket ID .845 inches
    marked U.S.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Pat

It is a M1835/55 replacement bayonet for Model 1840 and Model 1842 muskets that were missing bayonets. These will also fit on Leman altered M1841 Rifles.
