    Artillery shell identification

Found some grape/canister shot today & also picked up what I thought was a James shell fragment. The balls are rusty & magnetic.
However the shell frag is not magnetic. It?s not lead & has some green on it. Could it be bronze?

I don't know squat about artillery, but didn't some shells have brass, bronze bands around them?

Yes, I found out it?s a brass sabot from a 100lb parrott shell.

It probably took two powder monkeys to carry the charge for that one!
