Streaky wood. Oops, some how this ended up on the wrong subject I meant to post on smallarms.

    Hello all,
Does anyone have a cure for camouflaging mineral streaked wood? Would a dark walnut stain mask it. This Pedersoli Lorenz would have been such a beautiful stock except for these ugly streaks.
    Thanks,
    Walter

Just my opinion the streaks add character.

Beauty is in the eyes of the owner

If it looks like a musket, shoots like a musket, handles like a musket and breaks birds, it is a beautiful thing. If the Lorenz bangs birds, it is a beautiful thing. Too many Skirmishers get hung up on looks. Looks do not reduce seconds on the clock. "Banging Birds" is a beautiful thing.

There is a song from the '60's about a wife who was "ugly", but she sure could cook. Clue the music!

    Leave it alone

I agree with everyone else regarding your beautiful stock. I wouldn't touch it. I would be VERY happy to have that stock on one of my rifles.

Ok, I surrender, I'll leave the stock as it is.
    Thanks for the replies.
