Does anyone know who this barrel may be by? It is off of a Mississippi, and has a patented breech as you can see screws into the barrel just behind the rear site. The only marking other than serial number and caliber is the VP shown on the attachment.

With three lands and grooves Large and Numerich are out. Judging by the location of the joint, where the breech is screwed on, could that be an old EuroArms zouave barrel? Have you had the rear sight off to see if there is a filled screw hole where a zouave short sight would have been fastened?

    Geezmo,

No, I haven't taken the sight off. The gun is not in my possession. I am inquiring for someone else. But, we'll check it out to see.

I wonder if this is a gun defarbed by Lodgewood or similar?
