    Stock for 1841 Mississippi Rifle

I don't hold out much hope for this, but I am looking for a stock for a Model 1841 Mississippi Rifle. A decent original would be great, even if cut, or an unused Dunlap stock. Dunlap has none because he cannot get a source for black walnut blanks. Anyhow, if someone by chance has one lying about, unused, I am definitely in the market.
    Thanks-

    stock

    Jim
i watched a very interesting video last year where a fellow in Alaska took a Remington 1863 "Zouave" stock and modified it to make a Mississippi
he squared the but end of the stock- fir a but plate and patch box, did some minor work on the front band area and it looked really good. it was on face book.
so you may want to widen your search a bit

    Stock

Thanks, guys, but a European repro stock won't work for original parts. I will have to keep looking.

I'll have to take a look in my stock pile. I think there's a cut off original Miss stock and maybe even a fore-end in there. May take a day or two, if I find it and take pictures to send.

If anyone has contact info for Jim Leinicke, 7368V would you please tell him to check this thread, I have an original with a fitted new fore-end under the rear band. Another member is interested, I want to exhaust all means of contact, he hasn't been here since posting. I guess he didn't hold out much hope. He can contact me at krag96@protonmail.com

Fits very good, better if I could have held it together, it's just lying there as best I could make it. Comes with original rear band spring.

Typical stock burn out from caps, it's filled in with what looks like bedding compound. Needs filed to shape and finished.

It has bedding compound in it with foil under it, (got it that way). Did not try and remove it, I suspect the foil is there to make it easier to remove?
