    Replacement Smith Hinge Screw

Since we're talking about Smith hinges...I've got a question. I had a problem with my hinge loosening up. I took the screw out and found some decent wear marks around the hinge ring areas. The easy fix was a new screw before I jumped into relining and resizing the hinge holes. I ordered a Pietta part from Taylor & Co. and it fit very nicely. The hinge was tighter, but screw was sitting back about 1/16". See pic #1. The screw shaft was about 1" from the shoulder of the Head and the end of the threads. See pic #2. The threaded portion is about 3/16" long, and only engages about 2 threads when tightened. The overall length is 1 5/32". See pic #3.
I think I need a screw with an overall length of 1 1/4". Does anyone know where I can get one?

    Hinge screw

My original Smith had loosened up also and I picked one up from Lodgewood, it was a reproduction screw for the original and it it fit snug after I turned it in the lathe, took about a thousandth off. No more wobble and flush.
