The guy says it's in 44-40 and is marked as part of 500 gun run. Anybody know anything about these?
Thanks,
Papa Rob

Just remember!
When a pot needs stirring, someone needs to do it...
The N-ssa website. I answer the recruiting emails for the N-SSA. The guy sent in an inquiry on the recruiting email address.
This is the kind of stuff I get all the time because people obviously don't understand what "recruiting" means and they just send whatever questions they have to that email.
I try to be nice, solicitous and helpful when they make these inane inquiries in case they might actually be potential recruits for some unit.
Rob, if I'm not mistaken, the 1 of 500 gun series for the 44-40 Brass Framed Henry's were the early (First) Henry's produced when the N-SSA introduced them as a competitive firearm...

I have one. I think I bought it in the late 80's or early 90's it was when they came out. They all say NSSA 1 of 500. They were all supposedly to be numbered consecutively. One 1 of 500, 2 of 500, 3 of 500, 4 of 500 and so on. All the ones that I have seen say 1 of 500. The big tall fellow that worked in the Navy Arms stand at the nationals, I can't think of his name, told me that the manufacture screwed up and numbered the first ones or maybe all of them 1 of 500. Some of the first ones, the one I have included have headspace issues. The rim would separate from the case.
