This was adopted a long time ago when the discussion was that it should be called a "Richmond M-1855 Rifle Musket" because Richmond used the exact same Harper's Ferry M-1855 Rifle Musket tooling to produce this musket. The tooling, of course, having been captured in the raid to Harper's Ferry in 1861. The tooling was taken from the Harper's Ferry Armory and reinstalled in the Richmond Armory. Since this has now become confusing, I will reword the terminology in the next edition of the "Approved Arms List".
Thanks John, it was confusing. I thought it might covered under the CS Richmond 55, but since it is not listed I wanted to confirm without a doubt.
