Does anyone know which Redfield sight this is and more importantly where one could be acquired? The aluminum frame is not part of the original sight. I use it to sight in my musket.

It should have a code marked on it somewhere. If you have that you can look it up. ebay is the place to find obsolete receiver sights. You have to be patient and keep watching.

    Terry,

I just checked my copy of ?Old Gunsights, A Collector?s Guide, 1850 - 1965? by Nick Stroebel. The closest I see to yours, with the long forward extension, is a Redfield No. 75. Your forward extension, mounting it to the aluminum frame, looks like it was modified from original. Probably by whoever made the aluminum piece. Like John said, check eBay from time to time. Just don?t be shocked by some of the prices.

    Good luck,

Thanks I will try to search for a Redfield 75. You are correct the aluminum base is not part of the original sight and the sight aperture has been moved from on top to the bottom so it can be used to sight in a Springfield musket.
