    BERNARDELLI 1841 MISSISSIPPI/GOLD RUSH RIFLE
    .58 cal w/ W ON BOLSTER
    RIFLE IS IN VG/EXCELLENT CONDITON.
    BORE & RIFLING IS GOOD
    TRIGGER & NIPPLE SEEMS TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION.
    WOOD STOCK HAS SOME MINOR DINGS WITH BEAUTIFUL WOOD GRAIN
    BARREL HAS SOME MINOR WEAR

    The "W" on the bolster of a Bernadelli Mississippi Rifle means the bolster is Welded on, rather than Brazed. The Brazed bolsters have been known to fracture, or blow completely off, at the joint.

    Exactly what John said. The company started welding bolsters and marking them with the ?W? to identify them as being safe. It?s odd and a little scary that many repros have soldered bolsters. Glad we have the approved arms list for the N-SSA.

    FYI - Soldering is not brazing. Brazing is much stronger. Look it up.
