Any Pet Loads in .36 and .44 Pistols?

What loads have people found to be the most accurate in their cap and ball pistols? 3Fg, I assume, is the powder of choice?

Generally, if you are shooting round ball, most .44s will get maximum accuracy around 18 grains of 3F Goex, and most .36s will get maximum accuracy around 12 grains 3F Goex.

Other powders may be different.

The horse pistols like the Walker are a different animal. I got best accuracy with it with 45 grains 3F Goex. It's literally a carbine for your hand.

At the World Championships, 99% of the competitors shoot round balls. About 15 grains of 3f.

In my .44 Remington I use 22 grains of 3f with cream of wheat filler (I do not remember the volume) pushing a Hornaday .451 round ball at 25 yards.
In my .44 Rogers and Spencer I used 25 grains of 3f, cream of wheat filler, pushing the same ball at 50 yards.
I made the cream of wheat scoops a long time ago, and I do not recall the volume of the filler, but it keeps the ball close to the end of the cylinder in both revolvers.
