    Needham Conversion Case Issue

    Good Afternoon,

Just back from the range and I could not close the bolt on the Needham. Brass is brand new and exactly specked out to Phillip Peterson dimensions for 58 Musket. After some fiddling around, looks like the rim's diameter was a bit much for my rifle. Threw the case into the mini lathe and it did the trick. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks, Randy.

Not an answer to your question, but a data point to throw out. I have a Remington Transformed rifle in .58 Roberts (one of several very similar .58 centerfire cartridges). I use modified RMC .58 Musket brass. The rim diameter is .750". This is it next to an original .58 cartridge. The original's rim is .751".
