Identical to this 'un.
My Dad had one just like it but it was dark blue. He bought it brand new off the show room floor, I was with him when he made the deal, traded a 1946 Plymouth he had and $535.00 dollars try that today. My mother gave it to me when he died and I droved it till about 1970 before the floor boards rotted out. A better car then they make today.

Then two years later I got this '53 Bel Aire. Problem was it didn't want to shift out of first gear and the air cleaner would blow off.
I learned to drive with a '56 Plymouth Savoy, straight six, 3 on the column. I would like to see a young person today try to drive a 3 speed on the column.
Ah, the good ol' days. My first car was a '59 SAAB 2 stroke with three on the tree. I dropped in a newer 4 speed, which strangely enough had a backwards shift pattern with the 3 speed linkage. The Old Timers at the fort may remember it.
My first car was a '59 Chevy Bel Air that had originally belonged to my Grampa. Dad horse traded it from him and then he swapped it to me for a pair of walkie talkies. Straight 6 with 3 on the tree. I remember taking my driving test in 1967 and impressing the instructor by holding it on an incline in gear without using the brakes. I thought those big fins were so cool.
As a side note, I sure hope some moderator type isn't flipping out over this unauthorized use of the bulletin board.
Maybe we need another category where old guys can reminisce without feeling guilty.

Then just under two years later got a Dodge identical to this one. Boat!! Yeah I don't know how this got off the track so bad.
To answer Bob Andrson's question, yes there already is a place for this type of general "Cabin Fever" banter. That location is "Around the Campfire", which is what we have here, a bunch of guys sitting around chewing the fat, reminiscing, etc. As a Moderator, I see this as a good thing regardless of the topic, because today we need all of the cohesiveness that we can muster to hold this great and unique organization together as we try to survive these difficult times. So, as long as everyone "Plays Nice", I'll just sit back and follow along with you!
Where this got started, growing up my pop would run up to the Dakota stockyards two or three times a week and buy those mean as sin grassers that up to then had been living on the prairie amongst the 'yotes. He would then bring them to our feed lot and calm them down for a week or so, and then sell them usually at a pretty good profit to local Iowa feed lots. This behavior was early on transferred to cars.
