    Damaged 1863

I got this from someone as a parts gun and looking for options. I?d like to see if I can buy a seperate barrel and just replace barrel. He says it was an obstucted barrel with a 2nd load at the tip. He did not want to talk about it much just gave me the gun for a few hundred $.

Is there someone that can either cut it down and relocate front sight or I?d rather see about just buying an original 1863 rifles barrel if that?s possible

I have another 1863 I have had for a few years but have not tried swapping it to verify lock is ok but I can get a cap to go off fine with it.

Try Bob Hoyt. He can cut the barrel at the second or third band and sleeve the original portion onto a new tube contoured to specs. Usually invisible when done. 717 642 6696. You'll probably have too leave a message.

Bobby is away for another week by Oct 1 he will be working. Looks like a reline and adding a piece back at the band. Nothing a few hundred dollars can't fix.

    Damaged 1863

    All fixed by Bob Hoyt
I also have an original barrel purchased and on the way.
Now I'm wondering how to add some patina to the finish, its a bit too clean now

Bobby does some amazing work Maybe try some plumb brown on it and use a scruffy pad to blend it together
