"Figure eight" Navy Arms detachable M.1855 rifle front sight.

Acquired an early M.1855 Harper's Ferry rifle. Patch box is inletted for the detachable foresight. Thus am looking for a Navy Arms replica of this "figure eight" sight. Would love an original, but have as much chance of that as a date with Cheryl Crow....

Dave, you might find that a repro doesn't quite fit. I bought one several years ago and the barrel loop is a tad too big and not exactly the correct overall fit to match mortise. On the other hand, I couldn't tell you who made the one I have. Good luck.

    Dave,
Dixie Gun Works has them in stock at $35, as of 0750 this morning. Search their online catalog under "Sniper Sight".

Have one on order from DGW. I suspect these are not a good fit on M.1855 rifles because Navy Arms produced them to fit their Remington "Zouave" replicas.
