I won 3 gold medals with my Henry before I went Smoothbore crazy. Team events are shot on the same day in VA so I had to pick one, swapped the Henry.

    With that said,

Lyman 427098, 205 gr semi wad cutter, cast from wheelweights.
    Sized to .430
Lubed with my lube, known as N Lube or Bob-o-lene.
R-P brass, full length resized. (Not necessary in Individual matches but necessary in Team events where reliability is a must.)
Any regular primer. Magnums not required. I use Winchester mostly.
    30 grs GOEX 3f
Card or poly wad. Poly shoots better and they are not abrasive to the bore, but they are not biodegradable. I cut card wads from cereal boxes. Punch them out with a belt punch.
Seat to just at the driving band and lightly crimp.

You can use Lyman 421429, the Keith style semi wad cutter, but it is heavier, 240 hrs, and longer, so you don't get as many in the magazine for the team events. Also, cartridge overall length is important in the Henry feed mechanism. With that said, if your gun likes it, it will drive tacks.

Good luck. Henry is the coolest gun I've used in skirmish style shooting.

Only if you short stroke it or go really slow.

I have both the Moose Mould and the RCBs 204. Both shoot great. But I prefer the Moose mould. The RCBs I had Moose remove the gas check. It would once in awhile catch a case lip and either crush the case or peel lead. I use 27Gr. 3ffg OE.
