For Sale: 1861 Springfield Rifle Musket Reproduction - Dixie Gun Works/Miroku (Japan)

Hey everybody! I bought this rifle from a member on here about eight years ago and the time to sell has come. You can read the description below or on the listing at Armslist.

For sale is a reproduction of an 1861 Springfield Rifle Musket made by Miroku (Japan), sold originally as a kit from Dixie Gun Works. Rifle is made of steel with a walnut stock and comes with a nice leather sling (from Gettysburg's Regimental Quartermaster). These rifles are relatively rare and are considered by reenactors to be one of the best reproductions on the market. The original owner used this rifle for N-SSA competitions. I am the rifle's second owner and have used it primarily for reenacting/living history demonstrations, but have also fired a number of rounds through it without issue.

The rifle itself is in very good condition (I'd rate it at about 85%, give or take). Everything works great and there are only a few minor defects in the rifle's appearance. There is some minor corrosion on the butt plate, some light scratches on the stock, and some light scratches on the barrel (especially towards the muzzle from use of a bayonet). One defect not visible in the photos is that the rear sight is slightly off-center, but perfectly usable with adjustment for that fact.

There is no internal rust and everything has been thoroughly cleaned and oiled. Overall, this is a great rifle. I am more than willing to ship this rifle for $40. Because this is considered an "antique" firearm, no FFL transfer is required by law. If you want any more photos or have any questions, feel free to shoot me a PM. Thanks for looking!
