Skirmish Rain Cape / Rain Coat

NO longer available at the Regimental QM, you can still get these "period" skirmish rain coats via eBay. Listed as "new" condition for $34.00

Good heads up. I wouldn't mind one. My frogg togg outfit is very waterproof for when it pours, but so often we get a misting rain that a nice raincoat would be a good option.

You're spot on Jonk - these period rain coats are a key staple to any skirmisher's Range Kit! Lightweight, low cost, easily rolled up so they do not take much space - and they help cut the wind and rain when needed. ey rank up there with poncho liners and jungle boots!

I'm still waiting for a response from the eBay sell to see if they will continue to get/sell these jackets for the foreseeable future. Unless I read it wrong on eBay, they currently have over 300 coats with brass Citadel buttons, and carry pouch in stock, for sale.

Looking at the manufacture's website, they do offer a black rain cape - and it is NICE. But it also comes at a higher cost and you have to order form Scotland...

Thanks Rob for the heads up. I ordered one to replace the one I bought eons ago from RQ. They are already out of the following sizes:

    40x48
    44x48
    46x48
    50x52

The raincoat from Mister Anthony is excellent and the turnaround time is fast. His coats are made for bagpipers and are real good quality. I ordered directly through his website at: http://www.misterantony.co.uk/

    Source of rain capes???

This AM I received the below response from the eBay vendor who is selling the all-familiar "period" rain coats used for skirmishing.

Hi, Thanks so much for sharing with your group! I actually got these through the state of SC and they came from the Citadel.
So, I am afraid that I don't actually have a source for more of them. These are the last ones I have.

So... DON'T wait if you want/need one of these staples to your kit!

Perhaps if we have any Alums from the Citadel in the N-SSA, they could help to find a potential source of supply???

I have one of the "newer" Citadel Rain Capes, from three years ago when these were still sold by Reg QM.

Interesting to note it featured a Made in China label in the collar...

Inside the jacket it had another cloth label sewn inside which read:

    Vision III
    York, SC
    803-684-9979

I tried calling the phone number, it's been disconnected.
