Greetings
Just picked up a Parker Hale Whitworth, early 3 digit serial number. What struck me right away was the stock finish. It is a very nice satin finish that doesn't look "plastic" at all, and very close to what I would think an original would look like. The reason I mention this, is that the other Whitworths I have had over the years, ones with 4 digit serial numbers all had an artificial looking "plastic" finish, like a polyurethane look on a modern gun.

Did Parker Hale change the way they finished the stocks at some point?

Really like the new guns finish. I have another P/H Whitworth that looks artificial. I've often thought of stripping the finish and redo to look more original. Probably would affect value I suppose, but....."plastic"?.....Ugh.
