    Passing of Dorothy Herring

About two weeks ago I reported the passing of Don Herring - 2nd Va Vol Inf.
It is with a heavy heart that I report the passing of his wife Dorothy Herring . I feel that she probably died from a broken heart . She was as much a Skirmisher as Don was . Services pending.

John and members of the 2nd VA,
Dorothy was a gem and she was more than just a skirmisher's wife. She was also a good mom to her children and to the members of the 2nd VA during the 70s and later. She always had a smile on her face and a good word for a wayward skirmishers like me. When my family did not come with me to the fort I always ended up at your camp site. Dorothy always had a sandwich for me after the carbine match and she always called me her wayward marine/coast guard child. I will miss her!!
