Looking for Harpers Ferry 1803 Flintlock Repro

Just as the title says, I am looking for an 1803 Harpers Ferry Repro in flint. Other flints locks considered. Ideally, something in .58 caliber if possible. Nothing smaller than .50 caliber though. Looking for something in the $850.00-1500.00 range. Please feel free to pm me or respond directly to whitneyrifle@hotmail.com

    Thanks,
    Bryan

    FWIW:
I bought one of those some 20 years ago. I found the lock had to be completely rebuilt before it would fire. There was practically no "throw" to the lock and the frizzen was as soft as butter so no spark. IIRC there was also an issue with the location of the touch hole in relation to the lock's powder pan. I eventually got frustrated with the gun's issues and sold it.

    Looking for Harpers Ferry 1803

You may want to post this request on the AmericanLongRifle forum. I posted a similar request a few months ago and two people with contemporary custom built 1803 rifles responded. Made of high quality, correct modern parts, their prices were around $1800. Their guns were the correct 54 caliber with custom locks that will fire the rifle each time and not give you heartburn over poor ignition. I ended up buying a contemporary Army 1792 contract rifle from one man and he was excellent to do business with.

    Try Lodgewood

Lodgewood has one for sale. I?m sure David can tune the lock & harden the frizzen if he thinks any of that is necessary.

I have two Miroku 1766 Charlevilles I am willing to part with. One was defarbed and gone over by Lodgewood, the other is as out of the box from 30+years ago but while aged, is quite nice for what it is. These generation muskets beat the heck out of the over built clunkier current offerings. Weight and lines are pretty true to form. Send me a message if interested. Both in the $1000 range.

    Regards

    Ben

I have a complete set of parts with Colerain .54 cal barrel, Stock, Lock, ramrod, patchbos etc. from Track of the Wolf and The Rifle Shoppe. I'm looking for $1000 for the "kit" which is a bit less than I have in it. Have two drawings, two patchboxes and two ramrods. If you are interested you can reach me at oscarlovel@gmail.com. I might consider trades as well.
