    Nipple Size? M1842 Aston Pistol

    Well howdy, yall.

Just took in a 1847 dated Aston M1842 .54 cal U.S. horseman?s pistol. This is not my gun but I found a photo of one on the internets:

The nipple though is shot. It?s real wollered out like and the top is all bent and rusted. Luckily the threads in the holster are mint and the nipple unscrewed properly. I just need a new nipple. Problem is not sure what size to get and where?? (

Can anyone help me get a new nipple for this pistol? Thanks all,

    -Earl

It takes a standard US musket nipple, 5/16x24 threads. Good luck with it!
