    Lyman 575602 for sale

Lyman 575602 minie mould with automatic core pin conversion - $100 plus ($7 for USPS small flat rate shipping.)

Note - this conversion using a bolt through the side of the mould and into the core pin is something I've done to all of the minies I use regularly. It allows me to operate the mould without the extra step of removing the core pin. In use, you pour, remove the sprue, rotate the mould upside down, spread the handles and tap the head of the screw with a mallet (I use a leather mallet when casting) and the bullet drops free. The pin is close enough to the block that it returns to center when you close the handles with no extra movement.

Core pin has been remade to create a heavier bullet. In my opinion, the original design was too light to be accurate at 100 yards. This mould throws a minie that weighs about 430 grains. As I recall, the original 575602 drops at about 400.

Includes the original core pin (what I THINK is the original pin, although the pin for attaching the wooden handle has been removed). Buyer can switch the pins back and forth if they wish.

I didn't invent this design, just copied it from a picture I saw somewhere.

Interesting set up. I had all my Lymans converted to floating base pins like the Hodgdon by a machinist. Only cost me $20 apiece but that's some time ago.
