Historical info for both Ramshorn and Jensco Maynard work?

    Hello:

Am trying to fill in some more info holes, please?
By the way, thanks to you that already helped with texted info and telephone calls.

    Ramshorn:
Have been told "Judge" Stuard made some investment cast parts, "COMPLETE" Maynard repro's before he retired in Dec of 2000/2002. Then he passed two months later leaving a sizeable amount of parts at the foundry.

    Can anyone please tell me:
    1. Approx. how many complete guns he delivered before passing?
    2. Who did the barrels? Were they both smooth/rifled bores?
I have seen references to Sharon, Orion and Korean barrels.
    3. What became of the investment cast parts after his passing?

    Steve Jensco:
Did he make complete Maynard repro's or just barrels?
I have heard "only barrels, w/ rear breech sections".

    Many thanks,
    Kevin Tinny

As far as I know Steve Jensco only made barrels. I have never heard of a Maynard action or frame made by him. Hoyt made his barrel blanks in both 3 groove and multigroove. The lugs were welded onto the barrel and I replaced one in which the rear lug pulled off the barrel. My barrels and Ramshorn are the only ones to use a monobloc with integral lugs that the barrel is installed into. Mine are machined from solid 4140 steel and the Ramshorn ones are cast. The earlier Harpers Ferry barrels had the lugs silver brazed to the barrel. Jensco also made barrels for Smith carbines. Steve did a lot of repair work on lots of guns and no one knows all that he did.
